Tuesday was the first day of this years UK Open competition and as usual we have seen both the Amateur and Professional Rising Stars dancing. For every couple it is a great start to the year to be in the finals of these events and even better, winning them. This year again, we had a pleasure to watch the young Amateurs and Professionals competing in both styles for these fabulous titles.

This morning started with the early rounds of Amateur Rising Stars Latin and Professional Rising Star Ballroom. Amateur Rising Star Ballroom couples and Professional Rising Star Latin danced their events in the early evening. Semifinals and finals of all these four events were held in the evening and were danced to the live music played by famous Ross Mitchell orchestra.

Igor Wilczynski and Anna Kapliy from Poland (photo above left) were delighted when they were announced winners of the Amateur Rising Star Latin. Austin Joson and Nino Dzneladze from USA were second and third place went to the Russians: Ruslan Khisamutdinov and Elena Rabinovich. The remaining couples competing in this final were from Spain, England and Canada.

Professional Rising Star Ballroom final round was next. The title went to Iaroslav Bieliei and Olga Tsikalyuk who dance for USA (photo above right). On the second place were the Australians David Klar and Lauren Andlovec and the third place went to the couple from Russia Sergei Sutyrin and Natalya Sazhina. Remaining finalists represented USA, Russia and Israel.

After a short break next two finals were danced by another group of wonderful dancers. The next event Amateur Rising Star Ballroom which was convincingly won by the couple from Ukraine Igor Reznik and Mariya Polischuk. They were over the moon with the result! They were followed by the young Polish couple Michal Le and Sandra Jablonska and the Italians Salvatore and Stefania Vitacca. The remaining couples who were in this final were from China and Russia.

The last event tonight was Professional Rising Star Latin which was won by the brand new partnership of Stefano Moriondo and Daria Glukhova (photo above right) from Italy. What a wonderful start for them! Second place went to Ruslan Aydaev and Valeriya Kozharinova who represent USA. And on the third place were Russians Valentin Voronov and Alina Imrekova. Remaining two couples were from Canada and one from Sweden.
