Dancing Waxed vs. Modern "Plastic" coated floor

How do you prepare dance shoes to dance on Waxes 'wood' vs. Modern plastic coated floor ? It sorts of takes my focus away if I am worried about getting stuck on a urethane created floor ( ie. with a sweat, humidity... on it, or, sliding on my behind on a waxed floor ? Do I keep wax on the shoes on waxed floor, or use talcum, which hets into the floor and ruins the finish ?
