Already over 700 ...13/3

explain, what do the numbers mean other than disagreements with FIDS and restrictions?  Even if everyone signs the petition, will it help the kids if no resolution is made  by the time team matches are held,  and the  Italian team is excluded ? Is there a plan of action if the support is really high-thousands and more  ? Will IDSF be beaten over their heads with the high numbers ? What's the point? What are we trying to accomplish ? I signed.

I agree with what you wrote.

I signed too, and I felt better afterwards.

I think it is a way of showing support. Granted it is only a small action. But it gives you a chance to say I am not in favour with what is going on. And perhaps it will help reach the silent majority who in time will eventually turf out those responsible and elect leaders who are interested in the dancer's interest and not their own power base.

It is making dancers more aware of what is going on and perhaps begin to be involved. A small step? Yes. The consequences? Remain to be seen.

goldfinger you say sad and I agree but for different reason. Of course it will not help the Italian children being punished and penalised by the President of their national association for this year.

That does not mean the petition cannot do good for the future-

At this moment by biggest surprise is the number of "names" who have not signed.

Do they not believe in freedom? Are they afraid? Do they just not care because they are doing fine no one else matters?

A lot of people on WDC side talks about freedom.

And then we have (the same) people, blaming somebody else for missing on a public list?

So this is politics, pressure, (freedom) to give your vote to WDC..

How sad it makes me to see, that it is continued war, not real freedom.

So if the above thing is actually true, IDSF and WDC is like tweens. Sometimes they dress differently, but everybody can see that they are tweens. Not much of a difference.

Dear Male,

Maybe a lot of people within IDSF and WDC are like tweens. That's why I called it a civil war.
The big difference is that the executives of IDSF have declared to be 'the only......" and "responsible for all....". Next to that in their acts they:
1. punish their own dancers and exclude all others
2. punish their own judges and exclude all others
3. ignore all professionals in WDC, not dancing in IPDSC
4. ignore the WDC as an organisation that existed for many, many years.
5. have restricted competitions and do not allow their own dancers to particiate in competitions outside their own system.
6. ignore and/or attack all competitions outside their system
The executives of the WDC have declared to be in favour of the open market and freedom to dance. Their acts show:
1. inclusion of more and more organisations.
2. direct registration of individuals
3. support to all dancers
4. support of all open competitions.
5. support of open competitions outside their own domain

For me that shows that although they might be tweens, but on the executive level WDC is definitely more consistent in what they say and what they do on this issue at heart. Apart from the fact that freedom of choice is a better one than restriction in this time and age.

Kindest regards,

Geronimo

It depends on your definition of freedom choice, Geronimo.

Best wishes
